My journey to yoga was peppered with starts and stops, aversion, fear, failed attempts, curiosity, trauma, injury, recovery, and chronic illness.

Yoga taught me how to pull up my bootstraps and try again. It taught me how to weep into the porous rubber of my mat, laugh uncontrollably in warrior 2, dance like my life depended on it, breathe with intention, and befriend the shadow within me.

I have worked extensively with people in recovery, both individually and in small groups; I have immersed myself in the lives of high-schoolers and middle schoolers, teaching them to self-regulate, breathe, meditate, and move; I have taught in Juvenile Hall, at-risk community centers, rehabs, and meditation retreats.

The similarity between all of these populations is trauma, suffering, courage, and most important: resiliency.

I integrate Somatic Experiencing® techniques into my teaching, guiding students toward a more grounded, resilient state of aliveness. My own experience has taught me that yoga and meditation are modalities for healing: Our breath is our medicine, our willingness is our strength, and the two are one way in which we can take flight.

I am pausing from teaching public classes.

I integrate yoga principles and practices into my Somatic Experiencing® sessions and consultations. Yoga is more than asana, deeper than asana, and functions as a way of moving through the world with more ease.

I am in the process of creating a 100-hour trauma responsive and accessible training. Stay tuned!

I look forward to supporting you!
